A Brief Introduction to FRS and GMRS Radios

Do not get confused with such technical names of two-way radios. Indeed there are different kinds of these two-way communication devices.FRS FRS stands for Family Radio Service, and was approved by the FCC for unlicensed use in 1996. It operates around 462 and 467 MHz, and is sometimes referred to as "UHF Citizens Band."It is used by family, friends and associates to communicate within a neighborhood and while on group outings and has a communications range of less than one mile. You cannot make a telephone call with an FRS unit.FRS radios share some channels with GMRS radios but are restricted to 500mW maximum power. RS radios come with fixed antennas, and cannot be legally modified to accommodate antennas or amplifiers.GMRS The General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) is a land-mobile radio service available for short-distance two-way communications and is also known as "Class A Citizens Band. The FCC grants five-year renewable licenses for GMRS Systems. It facilitates the activities of an adult individual and his or her immediate family members, including a spouse, children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and in-laws.FRS and GMRS both services are broadcasted in UHF on FM. Both services are available on walkie-talkie units as they are appropriate for communication within short distances.FRS/GMRS Hybrid FRS/GMRS 2-way radios are simply dual-service, or "hybrid," radios that provide access to both the FRS and GMRS bands, utilizing FRS channels (1-14) and GMRS channels (15-22). Use of a dual-service radio's GMRS bands requires an FCC operator's license. Dual-service radios may be used without an operator’s license, if only the FRS channels are used. There is a common misconception about the so-called "FRS/GMRS hybrid" radios. Don't be fooled by the pictures of little kids playing with them on the package. It's not allowed for children to use GMRS, unless their parents are licensed.GMRS has two groups of channels: Channels that are shared with FRS and channels that are exclusive to GMRS. For the shared channels: A (licensed) GMRS user can use these shared channels, with narrow bandwidth, and up to 5 watts. On the exclusive channels, GMRS users can use a wider bandwidth and up to 50 watts of power. For users who intend to use the two-way radio for limited distance, then the FRS capability will suffice. With the GMRS, you enjoy more distance coverage, more power and channels. However, you have to secure an FCC license. Connecting a radio to a telephone patch is prohibited on both FRS and GMRS.This particular article was organized by Devang Kakkad who frequently shares knowledge on the subject areas of technology and communication. He has also written detailed reviews of the best two way radios out there. He recently published his review on TriSquare TSX300 and Cobra CB Radios.

List of Typical Cleaning Supplies for a House

General Tools
Two brooms--one for inside and one for outside--are necessary for the house. You also need a mop and bucket. Get a sturdy, reusable mop instead of a mop with disposable pads. This saves you money and does not contribute to waste in the environment. A vacuum cleaner is necessary for houses that have carpets. Buy latex or non-allergenic gloves made from nitrile rubber and polyvinyl chloride, generally sold under the brand name of Nyplex. Alternatively, use vinyl gloves if you have a rubber allergy. Basic cleaning implements include sponges, microfiber cloths, window squeegees and cotton dust cloths. Clean diapers are soft and absorbent cloths. Sponges made from melamine are useful for getting out tough scuffs. Buy toothbrushes to clean in corners. Purchase an apron to keep your clothes from becoming dirty.
Garbage BagsGarbage bags are necessary for keeping debris contained. Use kitchen-sized bags in a tall garbage can to keep the kitchen area tidy. Purchase yard bags if you have trees that will shed leaves in autumn. It is not necessary to rake after you mow because cut grass left on the ground will decay and nurture the soil.
Bathroom CleanersA soap-scum remover, glass cleaner for the mirrors and toilet bowl cleaner are the essential cleaners that you will need for the bathroom. The necessary implements for the bathroom are a toilet bowl cleaning brush and brush caddy, sponges, toilet plunger, and rags.
Kitchen ToolsYou will need oven cleaner, dishwasher detergent (if you own a dishwasher) and dishwashing soap for the kitchen. An abrasive cleaner is also useful for cleaning tough stains, but do not use this on coated, non-stick cookware because the cleaner will scratch the cooking surface. You may choose to use environmentally healthy alternatives to these cleaners such as baking soda for a mild cleaning abrasive or vinegar as a window cleaner. Silver or polishes for other metals such as copper or brass are optional, depending on what flatware you own. You will need pot-scrubbing sponges, dishtowels and absorbent cloths to wipe up spills.
Laundry Room MustsThe cleaners that are essential in the laundry room are detergent, stain remover, chlorine bleach and non-chlorine bleach. You will need fabric softener liquid or sheets to cut down on static cling during the winter.

List of Safety Procedures

Obey Safety Signs or Placards
An easy safety procedure is to make it a habit to always carefully read and obey posted safety signs. These signs can be located on a sidewalk, on your food or medication containers, even on buildings. Safety signs are there to make the public aware of a potential health hazard. Noting these signs will make you more aware of and help you avoid potential safety hazards.
First AidHave a working knowledge of first aid. These are simple medical procedures such as applying pressure to a wound, cleaning cuts and burns, and bandaging injured areas that can help you or someone in your community in case of an accident. Properly applying first-aid techniques such as these can also help to cut down on the risk of infection from germs in an open wound. Keep a first-aid kit on hand at work and in your home to help cut down on your response time in case of an accident.
Personal Protective EquipmentRegularly take inventory of what personal protective equipment is required for your job or even for administering first aid. Make sure that you have a ready, properly functioning supply on hand and that you use it properly. Personal protective equipment such as vinyl gloves, earplugs and safety glasses can help to prevent accidents or infections while on the job or treating someone with an injury.
If your job requires that you wear and maintain personal protective equipment, your supervisor or human resources department should be able to furnish you with a list and where to locate it.

Latex Alternatives

Silicone
Silicone-based products readily fill in for latex because they share latex's characteristic flexibility and shock-absorbing properties. Mouth guards, dental tools, catheters, orthopedic products and diaphragms of silicone supply all the benefits of latex rubber without the risk of allergic reaction. Silicone-based substances remain inert enough that surgeons use them as replacements for bone and cartilage within the human body; external uses of silicone, likewise, pose little risk, even to people with compromised or sensitized immune systems.
VinylThin, flexible vinyl remains a viable alternative to natural latex rubber for gloves. Vinyl gloves and finger-cots tear more easily than latex, but fare better than natural latex in the presence of petrochemicals. Manufacturers market these items as vinyl or as PVC, short for polyvinyl chloride; PVC is always vinyl, but not all vinyls are PVC. However, all of them share a nonreactive nature. Vinyl will not fit as snugly as latex, but for tasks that don't require great physical dexterity, they represent an economical and practical choice for gloves and other protective wear.
PolyurethanePolyurethane, a form of plastic, can take on a wide variety of forms. Harder polyurethane products take the place of latex erasers and bumpers, while thinner and more flexible forms become gloves and condoms. Condoms and gloves made of polyurethane are thinner, but less flexible than natural latex. As with other latex alternatives, polyurethane will not provoke an allergic reaction in a person with a latex allergy.
MylarThis thin polyester film has numerous scientific, medical and household applications, but its most familiar form may be the colorful silvery shapes of decorative balloons. For children with latex allergies, mylar balloons permit festive and safe birthday celebrations. Mylar has little stretch to it, but takes a printed image well; decorative mylar balloons feature detailed images that natural latex rubber balloons could not display.
NitrileNitrile rubber shares almost all of the benefits of natural latex rubber except its low cost. Although nitrile rubber gloves are slightly less flexible than natural latex gloves, they have a lower coefficient of friction, making them easier to put on and remove without the need for powder. Nitrile gloves stand up better to oil-based substances that degrade natural latex. They are also less permeable to strong odors, such as that of formaldehyde or many petrochemicals.

Latex Vs. Non Latex Gloves

Description
Latex gloves contain natural rubber, and those found in a health care setting may also contain cornstarch powder. The cornstarch powder helps your hands slide into latex gloves more easily. Hypoallergenic latex gloves contain lower amounts of chemical additives. Non-latex gloves may contain synthetically made rubber or polymer molecules.
Usage/SafetyRemove latex and non-latex gloves and dispose of them after one use. The University of Minnesota recommends physically inspecting gloves for any signs of damage before putting them on and washing your hands after removing your gloves.
ConsiderationsCertain people develop an allergic reaction when touching latex rubber. Using non-latex gloves eliminates the risk of an adverse reaction resulting from a latex allergy. Adverse reactions include skin irritation, hives and difficulty breathing, according to the University of California San Diego.

Kitchen Wall Finish Ideas

Paint
Transform your kitchen walls quickly and easily with paint. Choose a gloss or semi-gloss finish, which is wipeable, to make them easy to keep clean. Get mildew-resistant paint if dampness is a problem. Paint finishes can assume a variety of textures depending upon how they are applied. They can be one-color panels or vibrant murals, and can feature a smooth surface or a bumpy one. Get a different look by using color-on-color effects such as ragging or combing together two or three contrasting shades of paint.
WallpaperWallpaper will transform your kitchen walls and is easy to install. There is wallpaper specially made for kitchen use; it has a scrubbable surface that is resistant to oils and liquids. It comes in every conceivable color and pattern, and many wallpapers are embossed to add another dimension to the wall finish. Add wallpaper borders as a finishing touch to your papered walls or use them alone to add an interesting accent to a painted wall.
PanelingWood- or vinyl-coated paneling can add interest, warmth and texture to your kitchen walls even if the original surface is in less-than-perfect condition. Paneling with a wood finish is easy to care for, camouflages smudges and fingerprints, and can give a rustic look to your kitchen, while the vinyl finish is available in many different patterns and colors that will add light and style to the room.
TileTile adds a rich dimension to kitchen walls, with a depth of shine or texture that is not achievable in any other way. It's often used with other wall coverings as a backsplash or a stove surround, but it can also comprise the entire wall. Ceramic tile comes in many colors, sizes, patterns and shapes, and you can combine all of these elements to make a look that is completely yours. It is durable and water-resistant. Porcelain tile is extremely durable and can be made to look like china or like stone. Glass tile sparkles and reflects light; it can be mixed with other tiles or laid in intricate mosaic patterns.

Instructions for Using Oxalic Acid for Bleaching Stains in Wood

Safety Precautions
Oxalic acid is highly corrosive and toxic in its refined form; use rubber or vinyl gloves whenever you handle it. Hazardous gasses may cause health problems, so always mix and use it in a well-ventilated area. The crystal and sandpaper dust is potentially dangerous; use a dust mask and eye protection. Have a pail of rinse water available to flush your eyes or to wash away spills if needed.
SuppliesOxalic acid crystals are available at most hardware stores; in addition, you need white vinegar, 1 or 2 large dry paintbrushes, 2 or more large clean sponges, a small plastic mixing bowl, a large plastic mixing bowl, a mixing stick, a plastic pail of hot water, a pail of rinse water, gloves (rubber or vinyl), goggles or other eye protection, a dust mask, a drop cloth, several clean rags, extra fine sandpaper (280 grit at least) and a tack cloth.
ProcedureBegin by stripping old varnish, which may reveal stains. Use mild bleach on ink and chemical finish stains and oxalic acid for water stains, such as black spots and dark rings.
Use drop cloths and sand away oil or remnants of varnish; sand in the direction of the grain. With a dry paintbrush, whisk away the dust, followed by a thorough rubdown with a tack cloth over the entire surface.
Mix three parts oxalic acid crystals with one part hot water in a small plastic bowl to make a paste. Apply the paste to the stained areas with a brush or sponge, avoiding contact with any metal. (Note: if the wood has been previously stained to a darker color, you have to apply the paste to the entire surface). Let sit for 3 to 5 minutes for soft woods and for over an hour on hardwoods; if the crystals dry, either remoisten with a couple drops of water, or reapply. Once the desired color is reached, remove the paste with a sponge.
Combine 1 oz. oxalic acid crystals with 1 cup hot water in a larger plastic bowl to mix a “wash” and coat the entire surface to reach an even color. When the item is consistently bleached, use a clean sponge and warm water to wash away all of the acid.
To counteract the acid still saturating the wood, dilute ammonia with water 1:1 and use a clean sponge to wipe the entire surface. Immediately rinse again with clean water using a sponge and let the furniture dry for two days.
Once the item is dried, use extra-fine sandpaper to gently sand the entire piece. Remove the dust with a clean, dry paintbrush, followed by a thorough rubdown with a tack cloth.

You Need To Know About Latex Gloves

Latex gloves are generally used in hospitals and food industry to maintain proper hygiene. Latex gloves are widely used by the chemists to protect their hands from malevolent chemicals that can harm and injure the skin. The necessity of its invention had been caused by one such incident in John Hopkins University in 1890, when William Stewart Halsted was considering carbolic acid in order to sterilize his as well as his nurse's hand, but the acid was affecting the skin of the nurse badly, so he ordered 'Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company' to engineer a rubber glove which will be resistant to the harmful effects of the acid. Cornstarch or talc were used to lubricate these gloves, to make them easier to put on or take off, but research showed that these elements can prove to be dangerous to tissues and stall the healing process, hence the lubrication of the gloves had been banned.
Nowadays, some other materials like vinyl or neoprene are also being used as an alternative to latex for manufacturing gloves, as there are reported cases of latex allergy. However, the popularity of the latex gloves have not diminished, as the greater touch sensitivity, yielded by the latex gloves remains unmatched by gloves made from some other materials. The type and size of these gloves depend upon the work for which they are being utilized.
There are different kinds of gloves that cover up the hand till the elbow and there are also shorter types that cover palm and the wrist. The shorter ones are used in the medical setting and in the domestic scenario. The longer ones are used for handling hazardous stuffs like while spraying pesticide and handling other malevolent chemicals that might cause skin irritation and skin damage. These are generally made of thicker variety of latex to ensure protection from harmful, toxic substances. Latex gloves have come as a major blessing for those who work in various industries and are exposed to the risk of handling various hazardous materials, enabling them to avail effective protection against various kinds of health risks.
When you need to select the different kinds of latex gloves, you would get myriad of options. There are powered and powder-free gloves. All types of latex gloves provide an added gripping to the situation but it is the powdered ones that are easier to put on and remove.
Benefits of Using Latex Gloves• Latex gloves are durable • These gloves provide high protection while working with body fluids or with the chemicals in the laboratory. • These gloves are resistant to ripping, tearing, or punctures • These provide maximum comfort and flexibility. • They are not constricting or restrictive and can be worn for long durations • These are sterile and can be used in the operation theaters as well as in case of treating the outdoor patients.
Latex gloves are available in varying sizes - from small, large to extra-large. For best application, use a glove that fits the correct size of your hand and provides a comfortable fit. You also need to check whether the gloves hold tight onto your skin, as this will reduce the chance of damage to the glove and will lessen the chances of spreading contamination.
Loren Wall is a freelancer who writes various blogs and articles on protection and safety equipments. Being a specialist in this field, she offers varying information on the benefits latex gloves, masks, helmets to ensure personal safety and protection.

Your Scrapbook Albums - 7 Sure Ways To Extend Their Life Span

When you create a scrapbook, it's because you want to save and recall memories for years to come. Nothing is more disappointing than investing many hours creating a beautiful scrapbook with precious treasures from the past, only to have the album fall apart, the pictures fade, or the labels disappear. Here are some tips on protecting your scrapbooks and giving them a long, healthy lifespan.
1. Use a Good Album
Your scrapbook album is the single most important material for capturing and keeping your precious memories. It's the backbone of your collection of cards, photos, papers, and embellishments. And while provides the stable framework to house your memories, the album can't preserve them.
You have so many choices today in selecting a scrapbook album. In fact, there are so many different types that they don't fall into easy categories. Most modern scrapbooks are rectangular, the size of a piece of paper (8-1/2x11"), or their square, coming in sized ranging from one square foot (12x12") to half of that (6x6"). Size selection is completely a matter of personal choice. Smaller sizes are more portable, while larger sizes allow more decoration and embellishments.
The more use a scrapbook gets, the more time it's reviewed to recall special times, the more likely it is to degrade. Wear and tear will show, and your album could literally fall apart. But there are things you can do to protect your album and extend its life.
2. Beware Disaster!
Perhaps the worst thing that could happen to your scrapbook and its contents is a spill, so it's important to keep it away from liquids. They not only spoil the album cover materials, but they can destroy your favorite photos and memorabilia. Make sure your working area is clear of liquids, and that includes your coffee or tea!
3. Prevent Fading
Direct sunlight will fade your album's color and reduce the overall quality of your scrapbook. Extreme temperatures will also cause changes in the surface material. Very low temperatures can create moisture that could lead to mildew, while very hot temperatures could cause warping of the album cover backing. Use page protectors inside to prevent damage to photos and memorabilia.
4. Avoid Oil Stains
If you've watched any crime shows, you know that fingerprints leave an oily stain that can detract from your carefully-planned decoration and design. To avoid leaving these marks on your scrapbook album or contents, you could wear cotton gloves. But more practical approaches include washing your hands with acid-neutralizing cleaners or even simply using special care when handling photographs and delicate items.
5. Store Your Materials Properly
Don't leave your scrapbook materials out where they can get lost or damaged. Properly storing your negatives and layouts will prevent tearing, scratching, and bending. Storing all your materials in a cool dry place will increase their quality and lifespan. Use sturdy bins and containers, and be sure that envelopes are acid-free.
Take care in selecting plastics to use as sealers or protectants for photos and memorabilia. Plastic wraps and covers come in a range of quality, and not all will be suitable for preserving your precious mementos. Be sure to check with the retailer about the quality of the plastic protectants you consider purchasing.
Avoid vinyl plastics completely. They contain polyvinyl chlorides (known as PVCs) that can be dangerous and corrosive. While you may not see damage immediately, PVC plastics are a bad choice for storing scrapbook materials or for use in your scrapbook. Instead, use polyester or acrylic plastics that are more stable and less corrosive to give your scrapbooks long life and durability.
6. Use Acid-Free Paper
Be careful to use ONLY acid-free papers for your scrapbook. Many retailers include acidic papers in their inventory, so you'll want to double-check before making your purchase. Staying with one manufacturer is not a guarantee, either. While a company may make acid-free pastels, their darker colors or card stocks may not be as safe for your scrapbook. When in doubt, always check the package label or test unlabeled papers before using them.
Using acid-free papers is important because acids promote immediate deterioration of the non-paper materials in your scrapbook. The acid will make paper and other scrapbook items turn yellow and dry out. You're making a scrapbook to preserve your memories, and acidic papers will definitely circumvent that objective.
7. Use Quality Markers
Years from now, you'll want to check to see when a photo was taken. You'll want to read the notes you added to explain details of an event. You should be sure that the materials you use to label and identify your scrapbook items last for as long as the scrapbook does.
Ballpoint pens transfer ink from page to page, as it takes them a surprisingly long time to dry. And when using a ballpoint, you use more pressure than you would with another type of marker or pen. Look for archival quality, acid-free, and fade-proof markers for best results.
Following these simple guidelines will keep your treasured scrapbooks looking fresh and new for years. Your memories will be preserved for your children and their children. Don't let carelessness and poor-quality materials spoil your scrapbooks!

You Can Tile Your Kitchen Floor

Tiling your kitchen floor with ceramic, stone or porcelain evokes the sense of strength, value, and durability. It is aesthetically pleasing, and can cost about the same as a high grade vinyl covering, if you do it yourself. Other benefits are the higher rating on an appraisal of your property, buyer appeal (if you want to sell), and ease in caring for the tile. However all these benefits can be made nil if you do not prepare and install the tile in the correct manner.
Tools Needed For the Job:
Tiles
Backer board
Power Drill (corded or cordless, extra battery pack if cordless)
Hammer
Pry bar
Small piece of thin wood or laminate sample
Safety goggles
Dust mask
Circular saw
Razor blade knife
Gloves (both work and rubber)
Several clean buckets (5 gal. and household smaller size)
Jam saw
Tape measure
Level
Chalk line
Carpenter's square
Painter's tape
Trowel ¼ inch groove, and smaller one made for corners
Thin set
Acrylic additive, or some thin set had it added
Mesh seam tape
Putty knife
Tile spacers
Pencil
Wet saw or manual tile cutter
Tile nippers
Grout
Rubber grout float
Sponge, towels and water
Silicone caulk
Tile and grout sealer
Cleaner for tile
Steps to Follow:
1.Determine the suitability of the floor you want to tile. If you have determined the floor is not level, you will need to use a leveling compound that comes in powdered form in bags; at the same place you buy your supplies. This can be used to level a floor that is otherwise solid. Sometimes you may need to install a new sub floor to get the solidness you need. However, most of the time, when a homeowner wants to install ceramic tile, it is over an existing vinyl floor. Never install directly on the vinyl floor because the tile will pop loose later. Use a tile backer board. There are several types to choose. One has a mesh type covering, with the core looking like rough, crumbled cement. The other has a smooth covering with a smooth core. Both come in either ¼ inch or ½ inch size. I personally prefer the smooth core type because of ease of use, and water resistance. Your choice of thickness will be determined by things such as the adjoining floor's height, as well as things like how it meets at the dishwasher. Remove all moveable appliances and furniture.
2.Choose your tile according to your personal preference. Just be sure to use a tile recommended for floors. Think about the finish on the tile, because you may not want to use a tile that will be extremely slippery in a kitchen. I have found that a less expensive tile is just as durable as the more expensive, if installed properly. Also, for a beginner, it is much easier to use a square tile with a square on square pattern, then to use a complicated pattern.
3.Before laying backer board, determine if you are going to remove the baseboards. Your baseboard will be shorter if you don't. To remove the baseboard and shoe molding (or called quarter round), use a small thin pry bar, a hammer, and your piece of thin board or laminate sample. Place the thin board against the wall. This protects the wall from damage. Place the pry in the crack at the top between the wall and the baseboard. Use the hammer to tap on the hook of the pry bar to wedge it between the wall and baseboard. Use a lifting motion at the end of the bar to pull the baseboard away. Be careful and you won't have to purchase new molding, but just reuse the old. If you have door jams in your kitchen, they have to be cut shorter from the bottom. You do not need to take them down. Just use a piece of backer board, and a piece of tile on top of each other to find the height of the new floor. Mark this on your jam, allowing just a little more for the space the thin set takes up. Using your jam saw cut the jam off. It will now be ready to slip the backer board, and tile underneath when installing.
4.Now is time to install the backer board. Mix the thin set according to directions on the bag. For me, it is better to mix smaller amounts at a time in case I get interrupted, and because it is easier to handle. With a latex or rubber glove on your hand, use your hand to mix. This method is good to feel for lumps that need broken up with your fingers. Another method is to use a drill attachment to mix the water and powdered thin set.
5.Spread out the thin set, with the notched trowel, onto the floor. Arrange sheets of backer board over the thin set. Spread thin set for each piece of backer board one at a time to avoid stepping in it. Each piece than needs fastened down with screws. Use your drill to fasten in the screws. Space them at the marks that indicate placement on the backer board. When installing the screws it is very important that they are flush or slightly below the surface. If they are even a little above the surface of the backer board it can make the tile pivot, and or break after the job is done. Use a circular saw to cut the backer board, or use a razor knife and break the board at the groove you cut. Leave about a ¼ inch space against walls, and cabinets to allow for expansion. Use the mesh seam tape at seams, and use a putty knife and some thin set to embed it onto the seams. Let dry.
6.Using a tape measure, carpenter's square, and chalk line determine a center starting point and be sure it is on square. I like to also use some painter's tape to mark along the chalk line for the first few tiles. It is easier to see when using thin set, and when you remove it you have a straight line again. You only need these makings for the first few tiles. After that you will be lining up with your existing tiles, and tile spacers.
7.Don't use the thin set yet. Instead do a dry layout of some of the tiles to determine the size of the tile at the edges. It is better to adjust by moving the center tile over a little than to try to cut ¼ inch pieces at an edge. Now mix more thin set, and apply in sections and place the tile on top. It is best to start at center of the floor and work out. When placing the tile, be sure that you use a twisting motion, and firm downward pressure to ensure adhesion. Then adjust the tile if needed by using the spacers. If you have to remove a tile before it is set, the pry bar really helps to lift it. The size spacers used is according to preference, and types of tile. Do only the full size tiles where they will fit.
8.The next day, or after areas are dry enough to carefully walk around, start measuring, and cutting tile. To mark, a tape measure and pencil can be used to get the size. But an easier method for most cuts is to lay a tile in the space that needs a cut tile. It will overlap the first full tile. Then line up another full tile on top of the edge of the tile to be cut, and even with the full tile. Allow for the spacing where the grout goes, and draw a line with the pencil using the edge of the full tile. I prefer using a wet saw over a manual saw, unless all the cuts are straight and the full length of the tile. When using a wet saw, first carefully read and follow directions in the manual, and cut some practice pieces. It is not as intimidating as it seems. The saw blade is in a set track. Don't try to cut too fast. Slow and steady is better, and avoids broken tiles. Install cut tiles in the same manner as full tiles, and leave a tiny space at walls, and cabinets. It is now important to let the floor dry undisturbed for 24 hours.
9.Clean tile, using water and spray cleaner. The excess thin set will come off with the use of a scrubbing sponge. If you choose a porous stone tile, you need to seal before grouting. This is to avoid staining the tile. Polished marble, granite, ceramic, or porcelain, do not need to be sealed at this point. Mix grout according to package directions. Again, I like to use a rubber or latex glove to mix. Use the rubber grout float, holding it at an angle to spread the grout over the entire tile floor. Work in sections, and scrape excess off tile, after a few minutes, by holding the float at a more upright angle. After waiting about 30 minutes, use a sponge, and water to clean up more of the grout. Keep rinsing and squeezing the sponge out in your bucket. You may also change the water. You may want to repeat this procedure one more time. It won't be clean yet. Wait until the next day, and then repeat the procedure. This time use old terry cloth towels to wipe and buff after you use the sponge. If there are resistant places, use a cleaner to remove grout haze.
10.Now let the grout cure for the next seven days. If the environment is dry, because of heating, use a spray bottle with water, and spritz on the grout to make it cure stronger. After the time period, and the floor is completely dry, the grout can be sealed. Some tiles need sealed also. It can be done at the same time with the same product. You may need to do a couple coats depending on the product instructions. Re install baseboard and shoe molding.
Here are a few precautions and helpful hints
--If your floor is very out of level you may want to veto tiling, and go with a floating type floor.--Use thin set, never mastic for areas that will have water exposure. Mastic will melt away if a substantial amount of
water reaches it.--If you are only tiling at your home, and not more often, rent a wet saw. Reserve it if possible, but don't bring it home
until you are cutting tile.--When grouting, use painter's tape to protect surfaces such as the base under the counter.--When mixing thin set, grout, or cutting with a wet saw, do it outside, or in a garage because of the dust. Also, wear
eye goggles and a dust mask.--When cleaning out buckets or equipment, never pour it down the drain, even be careful about washing hands, because it
will clog the drain.--Use silicone caulk for perimeter edges instead of grout. Put the quarter round in the wet caulk. Use finish nails to
securely install. The caulk will prevent water from running under edges of the tile.--For cleaning, damp mop, or if the grout is dirty use a small amount of bleach and water.--Re-seal the grout once a year. Porous stone may need to be re-sealed every six months.

Protect Your Floors with a Concrete Sealant and Plastic Gloves!

Although concrete may seem pretty tough, it actually is vulnerable to many environmental factors. People often overlook the fact that concrete is porous. And as with porous surfaces, moisture, stains, molds, and other environmental hazards can seep in, wrecking havoc on your beautiful concrete surfaces.
Your concrete is always vulnerable to water. These porous surfaces will allow moisture to loosen your vinyl tiles or ruin your carpet.
How does water get in my concrete, (and how do I stop it)?
Water can enter concrete in two ways: from the top side or from the ground. Water entering from the top is called positive moisture. It comes from rain and other liquids that spill on the concrete surface. Ground moisture is called negative moisture. It comes from the natural moisture of the ground over which the concrete is laid.
Concrete surfaces act like sponges when exposed to water. It will draw water until it is saturated, or if there is no more water available. It will then disperse the water until it reaches equilibrium state.
What does water do to my concrete?Water may cause many processes that can lead to noticeable damage. Water causes the rebar to rust. This in turn weakens the concrete.
Water also activates alkali disintegration. During the curing process of concrete, the alkali in the concrete becomes dormant. As water seeps into the concrete the alkali begins to react again with the concrete around it. This destroys the concrete from within.
Water is also causes mold, mildew and algae to grow. Mold has been known to influence severe health problems. Algae, on the other hand, cause the concrete to become slick and discolored while mildew often give off a bad odor and stains organic materials.
Up to 60% of homes have basements that suffer from this sort of problem. This could seriously affect the resell value of your home and make your home a health hazard to its occupants.
The moisture must be stopped to stop the damage.
To protect your concrete walls or floors, you need to have them protected with a concrete sealer. Concrete sealers protect concrete from deterioration brought about by road salt, stains, oil, moisture, and molds. It also provides a layer of protection that allows for easier sweeping and cleaning.
You will most likely need only one application of concrete sealant to keep your concrete surfaces protected.
Needed Equipment
First of all, you need to assemble the needed equipment. First of all, you must wear protective clothing since you are about to work with potential irritants. Gather a stiff brush and a water bucket. You will also need some Plastic Gloves, goggles and small-particle filter to protect you against chemical agents. You will also need some paintbrushes and a paint roller. Make sure there is proper ventilation at the place you are to work with the concrete sealer.
How to Apply
1. Clean the Floor. Your surface must be free of dirt, grime, grease, and oil. The stiff scrub brush will help remove stubborn stains. Use a commercial cleaner to help remove the dirt. Stubborn stains might need some soaking in a detergent solution before they can be removed. Rinse thoroughly with clear water. A second application may be required.
2. Apply Sealer: Before painting the floor, make sure you test the sealer on a small patch of floor. This will tell you if the floor is clean enough or if there are still imperfections that should be remedied. Uneven density in the concrete may result in a blotchy appearance that may be undesirable. Apply the sealer using a paint roller with an extension handle. Use the brush to cut in when working the perimeter. Start in a rear corner and work your way out of the area you are working on. Work the sealer into the surface. Spread it in a way that all the puddles are eliminated and apply a relatively thin uniform coat. You will probably only need one coating. Allow the sealer to dry. This will take a few hours.
3. Clean Up: Don't forget to wash up with soap and warm water immediately afterwards. Remember you had just dealt with a potentially hazardous chemical. Always keep safety in mind as you work on your area. Also, dispose of the roller and the brushes you used for the job. Concrete sealers may require that you use these equipments just once.

Proper Handling of Your Collection Use the Plastic Gloves

Your skin is covered with oils and acids that can be detrimental to your coins.
When handling your coins with your bare hands can leave them with covered with oils and acids that comes off of your skin. This acid can eventually eat into the surface of the metal and damage your valuable coins. If you must handle your collection with your bare hands, then be sure to wash and rinse your hands thoroughly and dry them on a clean towel before you begin handling the coins. It is always a good idea to handle your coins by their edges.
Another way to handle your collection is to wear Plastic Gloves, but make sure that the material of gloves will not be harmful to your collection. Cotton, vinyl, or latex gloves are actually the best gloves that you can use without harming your coins. Many museums have their staff members to where gloves to keep from damaging their historical treasures. It is always a good idea even if when wearing gloves to still handle your coins by their edges, because tiny pieces of debris can gather onto the Plastic Gloves that can also damage the surface of the coins.
It is always a good idea to handle your collection while sitting at a table, but make sure there is a clean cloth placed on top of the table. This will help with cushioning their fall whenever the coin is dropped and it will only fall a short distance. Some collectors prefer to use a velvet cloth or soft mat on top of the surface they are working on. It is important to never drop or drag your collection against hard surfaces.
One other good practice is to never clean your coins, because cleaning your coins will cause them to loose any significant value. Only someone who is experienced should clean coins, and only if the current state of your coins are so bad that the cleaning will increase the appeal and value of your collections.
By leaving your collection inside of their holders when ever you view them will help to protect them from anything that may be on your skin that could be transferred to your collection. Your collection should not be stored loosely inside of boxes or jars, and especially not inside of a drawer where they can slide around and get scratched and dented only to degrade their value.
Never store your collection in a humid area and keep them away from moisture. Also try not to cough or sneeze near your coins, because this can leave marks on your collection. How you handle your precious collection is extremely important, and staying informed on how to properly handle your coins is just as important.
Frequent handling of your collection can be extremely harmful to the value of your coins, especially if it is an everyday thing, which will continually diminish the grade of your collection. Remember that it is important to avoid touching the surface of your coins. If you have to touch your coins, then whether you are wearing Plastic Gloves or not, be sure to touch only the edges. Fingerprints are extremely hard to remove from your coins, so try to never touch the obverse or reverse. Plastic Gloves: Decisions On The Right Glove Selections

Day in and day out dentists, medical and industry personnel have a need for protective gloves. Here are some guidelines for choosing the glove or gloves that are the correct ones for you.
DENTAL: Plastic Gloves provide essential protective barriers for dentists and hygienists. There are those that are powdered and those that are powder-free. Hygienists may wear up to 40 + pairs a day. Without them you are put at a higher health risk. Proper fit is essential In deciding which size to buy. Make sure that each box in any of the various sizes you order contain the exact size ordered. Ordering from a quality buyer will insure this.
POWDER VERSES POWDER-FREE: The Food and Drug Administration suggested lowering the levels of protein in the gloves, thereby reducing the risk significantly of problems with latex sensitivity. By checking the manufactures box you will be able to see they are FDA approved.
Many users prefer powdered gloves as they slip on easier. Others opt for the powder-free as to concerns to allergies from protein levels, even though our supplier has shown powdered gloves can be reduced down to near the level of powder-free gloves.
PROPER FIT: Gloves that are poor fitting as too small (ex.) tend to work the hand muscles impairing the ability to move properly. As a result it is harder to work in tight areas of a patients mouth. This may cause fatigue at the end of the day for the dentist or hygienist. Look for a glove that is most closely fitted to each workers hand size. It is not "one size fits all". Each dental office needs to make sure their employees have the glove size that fits them properly. This may also include synthetic gloves, which is just one more choice or personal preference. You can also scan your hand and e-mail or fax it to us if you are unsure of fit.
MEDICAL: In the medical field there are a variety of gloves that can be used. Again, there are the powder and powder-free, Aloe, Synthetic, Nitirle, Vinyl and High Risk Protector (which are a longer fitting glove). All medical professions have different needs, such as EMT's as an example of needing our Black Maxx for dealing with users or unknown risks they may encounter in emergencies. If there are any questions on which glove or size of glove is right for you, you can always contact the supplier. As stated before, FIT is the most important.
INDUSTRIAL: In most situations a simple polyethylene glove works for restaurants, light maintenance, and various other areas.
Beauticians may want the Black Maxx latex or Black Maxx Nitrile for use while using dyes. This is also true for Tattoo artists or anyone using ink materials. There are Plastic Gloves out there for most any need. Wisdom in choosing the correct glove is important. Always question your supplier in case of doubt.

Professional Boxing - Warning - Are You Making These Mistakes?

Each progressive spirit is opposed by 1000 mediocre minds appointed to guard the past! - Maurice Materlinck
Am I exposed to the latest scientific knowledge and discoveries in my training? This is the most important question you must ask yourself as a professional boxer. The correct training regime in the gym is imperative in accomplishing your success goals. Take a minute to calculate the price of losing. How much will it cost you to train the wrong way? How much time will you spend doing things in the gym that are ineffective, just plain wrong and even dangerous to the health of boxers?
* The speed bag does not simulate any skill required for actual boxing and its normal use is no longer advocated. Cus D'Amato, the legendary trainer of Floyd Patterson, Jose Torres and Mike Tyson, once hit the speed bag blindfolded to prove that the exercise does nothing to improve hand-eye coordination. Joe Frazier used the speed bag to practice the timing of his punches for a valid use of the equipment. Hitting the bag in a rapid manner is a pointless activity.
* Excessive Running is not beneficial for a boxer because long distance jogging is not the stamina building training needed for boxing. The conditioning needed for boxing is more like a sprint than a marathon. Short, high intensity training is required for boxing, not slow, long distance running. In addition, long training runs will drain a fighter's energy and make his gym training sessions less effective.
* Shadow boxing and throwing punches using light dumbbells or Plastic Gloves do not build speed or power in a boxer. These techniques can cause significant injuries such as pulled muscles, torn ligaments and possibly torn rotator cuff (shoulder). Using weighted and Plastic Gloves will also throw your timing off. As legendary Champion Bernard Hopkins says, "You will over shoot the runway."
* Weight Training Taboo. Modern scientific evidence clearly demonstrates that weight training is highly beneficial for boxers. Smart boxers now employ weight training on a regular basis to develop power and speed. Modern boxers such as Evander Holyfield, Roy Jones Jr., and Michael Spinks all used weight training as part of their highly successful training.
* Rubber, plastic and vinyl suits are extremely harmful and totally ineffective for losing weight. Actor Martin Lawrence went into a coma wearing one. His core body temperature rose to an extremely dangerous level. Rubber suits drain water and electrolytes from the body and do not permit the body to breathe. Proper nutrition through diet is the only successful way to achieve true fat weight loss.
* Albolene also does not induce weight loss. In fact, it makes the skin soft. Soft skin will tear or cut easily. Don't waste your money on a product that not only does not help you lose weight, but can be personally dangerous in the ring. Vaseline should never be used to prevent cuts. The use of Vaseline is banned in amateur boxing because it has been proven it prevents the skin from breathing.
These are just a few of the mistakes most boxing trainers make because they use the same old-fashion training methods they were taught 30, 40 or 50 years ago. All this bad information is the result of ignorance of modern methods. Are you willing to let your competition have this superior knowledge and advance training methods while you struggle without it? Arm yourself now with the proven most effective training methods, to give yourself the best chance of winning and becoming a world class, championship boxer!

Process of Producing Dental Impression Trays 2013

There are many forms of dental treatment which a consumer can consider depending on the individual dental needs. A lot of dental procedures are involved in any dental treatment to maintain good oral health while restoring damaged teeth. These include tooth whitening procedures, chipped or cracked teeth bonding, enamel shaping, veneer procedures and dental braces.
These and more require special dental equipment and instruments of high quality to ensure an effective and efficient outcome. Many dentists need quality dental impression trays as part of their scope of dental tools to examine, restore, extract, adjust and put on teeth, crowns and dentures.
Dentistry equipment
Every piece of dentistry equipment is crucial and functional to the effectiveness of a dental clinic offering the dental treatment. A sufficient supply of dental inventory is essential to a successful dental practice of quality dental treatment.
Such equipment include anesthetics, drugs, hand pieces, abrasives, acrylic trimmers, impression trays, control products, restoration material, surgical equipment, disposable bibs, disposable gloves and endodontic supplies.
Prosthetic dentistry is growing popular with more consumers desiring a restoration or replacement of missing or damaged teeth. There would be the involvement of crowns, bridges, dentures and implants to restore or replace missing tooth.
Dental trays are used in teeth whitening where custom fitted plastic molds are used to adhere to the exact tooth shape for maximum whitening. Teeth whitening trays are very effective with the use of the appropriate teeth whitening gel.
Process
Impression trays are used in the tooth whitening process where tooth impression is applied on the patient. A massive plastic piece and alginate material is placed inside the mouth and pressed against the teeth to form the mold. The dentist removes the impression for the teeth for an offsite lab processing where custom teeth impression molds are formed using thermoforming machine.
Impression tooth trays are formed and cooled by the thermoforming machine before activating the teeth whitening process.
Clear retainers and night guards are also made from the same impression tray process with different materials used in the thermoforming machine.
The patient would need to return to the dental clinic for another visit to perform the actual whitening process at the clinic. There may be a two-week wait before the next visit but patience is a virtue for those who want to have better looking teeth.
With the cost of dental services subsidized by insurance, NHS or companies, more consumers are grabbing the opportunity to enjoy better teeth and oral hygiene.

Pro Tips for Car Washing by the Plastic Gloves

Most of us have been helping to wash the car since we were kids, so while some of these tips are going to be well known, you may find some details here that are missing from your weekend car buff and shine.
Prep work: First remove your Car Bra, lower antennas, and get anything else off the vehicle that might collect wax bits or make it harder to do a complete job.
What we need:
Wash bucket
Wash mit
All wheel safe cleaner
Wheel brush
Car Soap
Chamois
Start with a rinse first. While it is tempting to splash on the soap water and start in with the scrubbing, rinsing removes the dust and road grime first, so that we don't sandpaper our paint job.
Stick with the method of starting at the top and working down the car with the hose, this way you save water and time. Spray off the obvious collection areas. Power washers are fine, but don't set them too high, or get too close to your car with the nozzle.
Once you have completed the rinse, start with the wheels first. Use an 'all wheel safe cleaner' and brush them down with a good wheel brush. Soap brush and rinse each wheel, before moving to the next.
TIP: Check the valve stem for each wheel as you go, to insure the cap is on. Lost stem caps can result in air loss and even flat tires as dirt gets lodged into them.
At this time we are ready to soap the vehicle. Start as always on the roof and apply the soap and lightly scrub the vehicle surface in a clock wise rotation moving down to the quarter panel and around to the trunk.
Once you have completely soaped the vehicle it is time to rinse, again start at the top and work you way down and around the vehicle.
Drying the vehicle
Now we will dry the car with a chamois. Take one lap quickly around the car to get excess water off the vehicle. Wring the chamois out completely and start on the roof and work your way around until the entire vehicle is dry.
Interior cleaning
What we need:
Portable Vacuum with attachments
Clean hand towels or paper towels
Plastic or vinyl cleaner
Foaming upholstery cleaner
Leather Conditioner (optional)
Carpet Brush
First remove your car floor mats, dash mats and rubber cargo liners (or other cargo liners) from the car. Organizers, and clothes bars as well.
Start with top-down vacuuming. Begin with the head rests for the seats, and work your way down through all of the crevices to the carpet.
TIP: If you have car odor you are trying to control, spread out baking soda throughout the car before starting to vacuum. This will help pickup odors and gives you a visual guide to insure that you vacuum every area.
TIP: If you have a great deal of pet hair, use a rubber or latex glove (the kind that are sold a dishwashing Plastic Gloves are perfect). You'll also need a new bucket of water. Just wipe the hair collected area with your gloved hands and rinse the glove in the bucket. You'll probably be amazed at how easy it is after trying to vacuum up the hair.
Once the vacuuming is complete, we can start in on the plastic and vinyl surfaces. Push the seats all the way back so that we have lots of room.
Clean and wipe all surfaces with appropriate cleaners.
TIP: Any cleaner with ammonia as an agent is not a good idea for cleaning your car interior. Ammonia is especially damaging to tinted windows.
TIP: Don't use a product like Armor-all on your steering wheel or control pedals. This is one of those tips that you will only ignore once.
Clean and wipe all surfaces in an orderly fashion make sure to clean the door panels as well.
Remove, clean and reinstall the steering wheel cover, and gear shift boot as well.
You can use on old soft paint brush or toothbrush to get in between the cracks and vents in and around the dash and center console areas. Be sure to extend head rests and arm rest to clean any hidden areas of dirt.
Once that is complete, you can spot clean the carpeting and velour. Using the foaming cleaner spray directly on to carpet or velour. Use a carpet brush to scrub the surfaces clean and follow up with the vacuum over the carpet and seats, this will remove any excess foam. Run over the carpet one more time with dry carpet brush to apply clean stripes to the carpet.
NOTE: See our Tip Pages for Removing Coffee Stains, Grease/Sand, and Melted wax from carpet and upholstery if need. Or our Hard to fix Interior Damage article has tips on removing rust stains and fixing scratches in your plastic dash or door covers. If you have leather in the interior, see our Leather Care page as well.
Waxing the exterior
What we need:
Paste or liquid wax
Pre-wax cleaner
Several micro fiber towels
Time to move in out of the sun.
Its never a good idea to wax a car in direct sunlight. What we want as well is some control over the temperature of the car's surface. So don't star right away. Let the surface temperature cool down a bit before you start.
If your vehicle is light colored and it has been a considerable amount of time since the last wax you will want to use the pre-wax cleaner. This step removes any stains or dirt that has worked its way into the paint surface.
To apply the wax, start with the roof and apply a light coat and if possible apply in the same direction as the panel. In other words, do not swirl around when applying simply wipe back in forth from front to back. This will eliminate any cob webbing affects that can occur when viewing the car in the sun.
To remove the wax simply start where you began and remove the wax by wiping back and fourth with a clean micro fiber towel. Do no use paper towels or regular towels as they can scratch the paint' surface.
Final Detail
What we need:
Several clean micro fiber towels
Tooth brush (to remove any wax left behind in the cracks)
Window cleaner (no ammonia)
Begin by taking a quick lap around the car and remove the majority of any wax left behind. Now clean the windows inside and out using a window cleaner, if your windows are tinted, make sure you use a window film safe cleaner (no ammonia).
Now it is time to "detail" the car. Start at the fender and wipe it down paying close attention for any wax left behind. Wipe down any chrome or trim moldings as needed and continue around the vehicle under. If your hands have touched every inch of the car, chances are you are complete. Take one last looks around to be sure nothing was missed.

Keep Your Footwear in Line - Choose the Plastic Gloves

Medical gloves provide barrier protection against harmful particles. Latex gloves are still the most popular because they are made out of poly vinyl chloride providing flexibility, comfort and fit. Nitrile gloves  contain no latex proteins and are great against tearing and puncturing. Vinyl gloves has good resistance against liquids.Disposable gloves are only to be used one time only. You cannot auto-clave medical gloves.
Whether you have five pairs of shoes or 50, you need to keep them visible. If you don't, the next time you go shopping, you could end up with the same pair of shoes you already own - but they are buried in the back of your closet. Shoe organizers play a couple of important roles. First, they keep your shoes visible. When you put on a pair of black slacks, you look at your organized shoes to see which of your shoes will be a good match Organizers also keep your shoes from getting dusty. No matter how good a housekeeper you are, your shoes will collect dust - especially your winter shoes in the summer month and vice versa. Other shoe organizers will encase your footwear, keeping them from catching dust. These storage systems include plastic boxes, cubbies and vinyl pouches. Others will just keep your shoes tucked away, so less dust falls on them.
Choices
Before you select your shoe organizer, you need to decide how you want to store your shoes. There are a few choices to consider. First, you could store them by color. All brown shoes go on one rack and all black shoes on another. All light colored shoes go together - and maybe all funky colored shoes go on another rack. Another option is to store your shoes by the season in which you wear them. On one rack, you could store you winter shoes - your half boots, mucks and Uggs. On another rack, you could store your spring shoes, heels and pumps. Set aside your summer sandals and flips flops on yet another rack. And for those shoes you wear all year long - little black pumps and the like - you may find the need for a fourth rack. Another organization alternative is to store your shoes by their function. Shoes you wear to work go on one rack, casual shoes on another. Set aside another rack for your running shoes and training shoes. And don't forget a rack for your sandals, flip flops, sneakers and truly casual shoes.
Storage Systems
One way to decide on the best storage system is to decide where you will be keeping your shoes. Believe it or not, not all shoes should be stored in your bedroom closet. For example, if you have kids who play in the mud and dirt outside - and then run into the house - you will need a set of mud room bins. Have the kids take off their shoes at the door and then store them in the mud room bins before they get out of the entry way. These bins are angled cubbies made of particle board. There are three bins in each set, giving you a total of nine cubbies to store boots, sneakers, cleats and even Plastic Gloves and hats in the winter. Set it by your back door and your children can drop their footwear off as they enter the house. Each bin is 25½ inches long by 11½ wide by 9½ inches deep. When it turns warmer in the year, use the bins for flip flops, sandals and cleats in the spring and summer.
If you are frustrated with sports equipment taking up space near your front entryway, consider a storage system set up in the garage that encourages your family to keep the mess outside of the house. You can decide how many PVC square cubes you need to organize all of your sports equipment. Each cube, which interlocks with the other cubes, is 18 inches by 18 inches by 18 inches. Set up a system in your garage or in the mud room, and you will never need to see another cleat, spike or running shoe inside your home.
Closet Systems
If you are looking for a storage system for the bedroom, you have many choices. Over-the-door racks can store up to 36 pairs of shoes. They hook over the door or can be permanently anchored on the wall. The rack has polymer sides and steel rods. Either hook the shoes over the steel rods, or use the racks to store shoe boxes (which will certainly keep the dust off of your shoes). If you are short on space, consider a space-saving rolling shoe organizers. This attractive vertical tower holds up to 28 pairs of shoes. A blonde wooden frame holds the polyester unit. And in case you're not putting this system in your closet, there is a flap you can pull down to cover the front of the unit, hiding the fact that is a shoe rack. Best of all, the rack is set on wheels, so you can move your collection from room to room. The organizer is 52½ inches tall by 13¾ inches deep and wide. The bottom line is there are plenty of ways to organize your shoes. So pick one out today and get that pile of shoes off the floor and out of sight.

Disposable/single-use gloves are protective shields for hands and keep infection at bay for those working in laboratories, operation theatres or household settings. With their advanced single-use property, the obvious advantage of this model over the reusable variety is that they reduce the risk of cross contamination.
Single-use gloves come in different models and are distinguished by the material used in their manufacture. They are mainly used for performing short-term jobs. Some models have beaded cuffs for added user comfort.
Disposable/single-use gloves are available in all sizes. Shopping online is the ideal way to buy the model you need as you can choose from a wide variety of brands.
Powdered and Non-Powdered Latex Single-Use Gloves
The use of Plastic Gloves is the highest in the medical industry. They are strong and effective against contamination during surgical procedures. They are generally referred to as natural gloves since they are made of the natural latex. They come powdered with cornstarch for user comfort. The non-textured powder-free models are suitable when performing sensitive surgical procedures.
Vinyl Disposable Gloves for Non-medical Applications
People allergic to latex single-use gloves usually go in for vinyl or nitrile gloves. This economical glove model is commonly used in non-medical processes and general purpose applications where gloves need to be changed frequently. Made of soft, polyvinyl chloride and lightly powdered, they meet all FDA requirements and useful in foods service and food processing applications. Volk Protective Products, Ansell and Safety Today are popular manufacturers of vinyl disposable gloves.
Plastic Gloves for Tough Jobs
Plastic Gloves are used for performing tough technical or mechanical jobs including electronic assembly, circuit board assembly, wiring and equipment maintenance. To ensure security and protection while doing these tasks, most models are equipped with a conductive X-Static yarn and a patented foamed nitrile static dissipative coating. Kimberly Clark provides high quality Nitrile gloves.
Buying Tips
Consider your purpose when buying disposable or single-use gloves. Choose the glove style and material that suits the task. A loose fit is necessary for frequent changes. The Plastic Gloves must allow the user high dexterity, and also comply with industry certification standards. Finally, compare prices before making your choice.

Junior Boxing Gloves-Choose the Plastic Gloves

Junior Boxing Gloves are ideal for juniors, women, or any boxer with small hands. A good pair can protect your hands and knuckles and last for you for awhile. It is important that you pick the correct size for your hand. Failure to do so can result in hand and wrist damage.
Most people tend to think that Plastic Gloves are designed to protect the person being hit. Though they do help soften a blow the abs, these gloves serve a dual purpose. The bones in a persons hands are tiny and fragile, a direct hit without protection around the hand can easily break the bones of the hand of the person who threw the punch. So these gloves also serve as protection for the person making contact with their hand.
The reason for wearing these types of Plastic Gloves are to safe guard your hands and wrist from the injuries that can occur if your knuckles were to cave in during a punch. This can lead to serious hand damage and prevent you from being active in the sport. Not to mention limit the function of your hands for normal use.
When looking for a pair of junior boxing gloves it is best to stick with the kind made from leather and not vinyl. these gloves are one of the most important things you need to have in boxing. It is important that you do not substitute price for quality. Leather gloves are more expensive but last a lot longer. However, Plastic Gloves made of vinyl can be good for activities such as cardio kickboxing.

Is Your Job Making You Sick-Choose the Plastic Gloves

Nitrile gloves  contain no latex proteins and are great against tearing and puncturing. Vinyl gloves has good resistance against liquids.Disposable gloves are only to be used one time only. Most asthmatics know that outdoor air pollution and exposure to cigarette smoke makes their asthma worse, but did you know that your job could be making you sick? Studies have shown that between 9 to 24% of cases of adult-onset asthma may be due to indoor air pollution at work.
Workers in the craft and manufacturing industries have a significantly higher incidence of asthma, especially those who work around cleaners, latex, epoxy glues, or the chemical glutaraldehyde. Construction workers who are exposed to dust and machinery fumes are also at a higher risk for respiratory problems. In the health care industry such as hospitals and doctors' offices, steps have already been taken to remove natural Plastic Gloves and replace them with a nitrile or vinyl type to prevent patients and health care workers from being exposed. Hairdressers have a significantly higher risk of occupation-induced asthma due to their frequent contact with many chemicals, particularly bleaching agents and persulfate salts. Housekeepers and maintenance workers may also be exposed to asthma triggers such as dust, mold and chemicals in cleaning supplies. Food allergens such as flour exposure in the food or food manufacturing industry have been implicated as possible triggers for sensitive workers.
Even working in a typical office building could be making your asthma worse. Researchers have coined the term "sick building syndrome" for office workers who develop symptoms from indoor pollution in offices. Sensitive individuals may develop symptoms such as wheezing, cough, fatigue, and nasal discharge from exposure to paper dust, carbonless copy paper, and fumes from photocopiers and printers.
So what do you do if you think your job may be making your asthma worse? Talk to your doctor first. Discuss the type of work that you do and what types of things you come into contact with at work. They may want to arrange for pulmonary function testing (spirometry) and send you to an allergist for sensitivity testing. Talk to your doctor about whether changing your medications or desensitization treatments might help.
After you know what indoor exposures are triggering your respiratory problems, discuss ideas for reducing your contact with these agents with your employer. Emphasize that you as well as other sensitive employees will be able to be more productive and decrease your sick days if steps can be taken to eliminate or reduce these triggers. Often simple changes can be made in the work environment to reduce or eliminate your exposure and improve ventilation. Everyone wins when you find ways to improve your health!

Job Site Preparation When Floor Tiling - Choose the Plastic Gloves

Medical gloves provide barrier protection against harmful particles. Latex gloves are still the most popular because they are made out of poly vinyl chloride providing flexibility, comfort and fit. Nitrile gloves  contain no latex proteins and are great against tearing and puncturing. Vinyl gloves has good resistance against liquids.Plastic Gloves are only to be used one time only. No matter what floor you are ripping up prior to laying floor tiles, you're sure to come across a few hidden surprises that may have accumulated over the years, or are part of the initial construction design of the room in question. When dealing with bathrooms, if you were to pull up vinyl flooring you may always expect to find mold or mildew, and possible water damage to the main flooring.
These will obviously have to completely scrubbed down, given a good bleaching, and rectified before you continue with your floor tiling project, otherwise they will just cause further problems after the laying of floor tiles. Other aspects will be regarding on what fixed furnishings you decide to remove before tiling and what you plan on working around.
A bath tub or an enclosed wash hand basin unit can easily be tiled around without disrupting the fixtures if they are still in good condition, however ceramic fixtures like free-standing wash hand basins or toilet bowls should be removed and tiled underneath where they are actually mounted to the flooring. This is the correct way to lay floor tiles in the bathroom other than just tiling around them, which can actually be more of a headache.
When removing the toilet for example, first of all this is going to be a messy and smelly job, so be sure not to wear your 'Sunday best' when doing this. First thing you should do before removing a toilet is to shut off the water supply going to the tank or cistern. This is normally found to be a valve near the toilet most likely attached to the water feed pipe at the wall. Simply turn this off, but sometimes they may be a little sticky due to rust accumulation, so just grip it with the jaws of your plumber's adjustable pliers, (water pump pliers), or anything else similar to give it that extra leverage, and turn off.
Next thing you want to do is empty the toilet tank of any water, so give it a couple of flushes to make sure it's all gone in order to avoid a messy situation and an unnecessary additional weight when lifting the toilet. Once empty, remove the hose connected to the tank, again with your plumber's pliers or by hand if it is not that tight. You may get a little leakage of water when you do this, so just put down a rag or a small container to catch the leftover drips and prevent them from soaking the floor.
Apart from the water remaining in the U-bend of the toilet, now that it is almost empty and your hoses are disconnected, you then have to remove it from its floor mountings. This could be simply four threaded nuts depending on your toilet design found at the base of the bowl, but are usually concealed by plastic caps to enhance the cosmetic look of the toilet. Just pop the caps off these nuts with a flat head screwdriver, then with possibly either a 12mm or 13mm wrench, (or 1/2" wrench if you prefer), simply unscrew the nuts. If you don't have a wrench at hand to suit then by all means use your pliers, but make sure you get a good grip around the nut, otherwise the jaw can slip and damage the exterior hex of the nut or the mounting threads.
When all the nuts are removed, with the help of another person when possible to make the job easier, lift the toilet upwards from its mountings. Be careful when you do this though as you will find it to be somewhat top-heavy and off-balance due to the placement of the tank, so compensate for this when lifting and watch you don't damage your back. There may be a slight mess of water from the U-bend when you remove it, so always have a rag handy to mop it up, and for hygienic purposes wear disposable latex or Plastic Gloves when working with such an unsanitary job.
On a final note, when it comes to replacing your toilet after floor tiling, be sure not to tighten the mounting nuts or bolts with too much exertion, otherwise you may crack the ceramic toilet bowl and add to the expense of your project. Be sure and replace the wax seal between the toilet and the floor also, as there is a good chance this has perished over due course and you hopefully don't want to be seeing it again for some time to come.
